Derek Hogarth, Founder and CEO
Mr. Hogarth has had a wide-ranging business career in both engineering and senior corporate management. From 1971 until 1985 he was with Gerber Legendary Blades where he attained the position of Vice-President of manufacturing and Engineering. Mr. Hogarth then moved to the plastics industry where he was COO and then President of several plastics firms including Puget Corporation of Oregon and Kaso Plastics. Mr. Hogarth became involved in the water industry in 1993 when he became President of Northwest Energizer Technologies. He continued to develop his expertise in water technologies through Clearwater Marketing and then foundingin 2005. Mr. Hogarth has a BS from Oregon State University and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
Timothy Piwonka-Corle, President
Dr. Piwonka-Corle also comes from a technical background that evolved into senior management roles. he began his career as an optical design engineer with the Prometrix division of KLA/Tencor (NASDEQ:KLAC) when it was still a small private company. Through a series of management roles he went on to become Director of the Optical Parametric Test and Monitoring Product Line at Tektronix (NYSE:TEK). Dr. Piwonka-Corle has been involved in several startups including National Applied Science in the diabetes care sector and MicroHelix in the fine wire and cable medical implant business. He joinedin early 2007. Dr. Piwonka-Corle has a BA in Physics magna cum laude from the University of Colorado, a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford University, and an MBA from the European School of Management at the Ecole Supérieure de Commerce du Paris (ESCP).
Jun "Leon" Fu, Senior Engineer
Mr. Fu began working with Mr. Hogarth on the technology foundations ofin 2001. He is responsible for the basic design of the system along with many of the engineering innovations that make
product unique. Mr. Fu holds a B.Eng. Electronics degree form the Petroleum University in Dong Ying China.
